Christine (Chrissy) Derksen, VP of the Refresh Brand Design Team, cares about customers and vendors— both personally and professionally, as well as, each project Refresh works on.
Chrissy received her BS in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing, from SJSU. Growing up locally, Chrissy was raised in a strict, family oriented environment, and runs her business with the same attention to detail, instilled upon her through her Father, who proudly serviced our government in the US Air Force, as a government agent, and as a corporate IRS auditor. She also studied Science at SJSU, inspired by her Mother who began her career as a chemist, to ultimately became the first female on the Board of Directors for the Santa Clara County Water District.
Although Christine began her career, as many Silicon Valley locals, working for years at a quickly growing startup (Network General, creator of the Sniffer Network Analyzer!), in 1994 Chrissy left the corporate world to venture into a business working with her husband Wil, and never looked back! After spear-heading a merger in 2001, and taking on a Director of Marketing position at the acquiring company, Chrissy is back to working with her husband, Wil Derksen.
They make it work! "Working in a family run business, allows us to be candid (it is okay to play devil's advocate at times) and ultra-creative (no idea is left unmentioned)! Occasionally, I feel that Wil can read my mind, and I guess that works both ways! We are the epitome of the perfect team!" Chrissy enjoys leading projects, ensuring deliverables are on the mark and on time, and even designs on occasion! Her goal is to simply set clear expectations for Refresh and our Clients, keep communications active, reach or exceed all milestones, and ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
In her spare time, Chrissy serves on the Board of Directors for the Williams Elementary PTA, in Almaden, as VP of Education, overseeing educational programs, such as art, science, literature and so on. She is qualified to run the position, for her second term, because of her many years of devoted service to the school, in a hands-on teaching capacity, for those programs. Additionally, Christine has dedicated four years to Chairing as PR coordinator and writer for the school.
